NoComply's Console Grotto

This section has been set up for a good buddy of mine, NoComply. In it you will various paraphernalia attached with 1990's console development. The majority of the items you see here are from NoComply's collection with the exception of two Backup Units+S-NES', which are mine; SCSI Cards by 'WF'; and a document behind those units, which was provided by DF. Small aspects of the pictures where edited at NoComply's request.

Note: I have no connection with these items (other than taking the pictures), so please don't forward 'wants/trades', etc to me!! NoComply has indicated to me that he's 'not interested in trading'. That said, if you wish me to relay any emails to him, I will do so, but I personally cannot guarantee a reponse to any forwarded email.

Update: 16th October 2006. Please note, any further email requests for dev' software will now be automatically deleted. This is down to giving out software to 1. those who don't use it and 2. don't say a simple 'thank you' when I did send it..

Psy-Q Development Units

These are two units to allow debugging on Sega CD and the Super Famicom. They consist of a Target unit, which plugs into the console, and an ISA SCSI card for connecting to a PC.

S-NES and Sega CD Units The Debugger at work

PS-X Debugging Station

This model of Playstation allowed developers to officially run Gold and Silver copies of region-free discs. Allegedly, there is some difference in internal hardware, but I don't know. It has the standard 2Mb of memory as found in the Grey PS-Xs. It has the extra audio/video phono connectors, an external Power Supply, and a CD drive/lens that are both showing their age! ;)

EPROM Prototype Boards and Console Information.

Shown here are a collection of NES, S-NES, MS, GG, MD EPROM Boards; along with various 8/32/64-bit Console information (hard copy and CD). The Super FX Board is the 1st Generation of the Graphic Support Unit (GSU1).

S-NES Backup Units and Manual.

These are two 32Mb Super Wildcard backup units, which connect to a PC via the Parallel Port. Also included is the fabled S-NES manual.

N64 Development Disk Drive.

This is the development version of the Bulky Drive. It consists of blank writable disks (and stickers), a external BIOS cartridge+bridge, Manual, RAM expansion pak, and the bulky drive itself.

SN64 and Saturn PsyQ Development Units

Beware of traders selling half-complete or broken kits!! Oh well, the sn64 target is missing the psu and scsi2 card and the saturn psyq's won't flash (one did work, but decided to die after its 10th use!!). Though the psyq set is missing the boot discs and dev Saturn + boot (which is a modded Saturn with an NMI Line attached to allow interrupts to the CD, a modded Saturn can suffice (and yes, it did work!).

SNES IS Character Development Unit

Not the true 'holy grail' of SNES dev' boxes, but a close second! (Thanks Arsenal!! ^_^) On top of which is my Super Famicom with 64MB Super Wildcard DX2.

SN64 Development Kit and Megadrive PsyQ Unit

The complete boxed Nintendo 64 development kit which includes hardcopy manual for the unit, scsi card, psu and CD. Also included in the picture is the Megadrive PsyQ target unit.

N64 Sound Development Unit

This target unit connects to the PC via a standard parallel port and facilitates sound devlepment usiting the 'Software Creations' sound tools. I'm not sure if it's PAL/NTSC unit-specific, or if it requires a Partner-64 console. I will have to check it out sometime.
